Title:
Navigating Privacy and Cybersecurity in Canada’s Emerging Open Banking Framework
Description:
In Canada, open banking just became closer to reality with the adoption of the Consumer-driven banking framework.
While greater data portability means more choices for consumers, the increase in the volume of transactions between the various participants exacerbates existing privacy and cybersecurity risks.
This presentation proposes to discuss how the future participants to Canada's framework can leverage the existing Canadian privacy laws to mitigate these risks and prepare for the additional privacy requirements which the framework will impose.
We will also look at what the upcoming Consumer Privacy Protection Act (Bill C-27) and emerging AI-specific legal framework, in Canada, mean for the processing of data among the participants to the framework
